We are about coming back to nature
Using environmentally sustainable practices, my botanically dyed work focuses on using the natural dyes from nature itself which reflect the unique form and colours of the Australian landscape.
The beautiful but often discarded wind fallen leaves I use are gathered from local surroundings on the Sunshine Coast hinterland and beach side areas of where I live.
I use environmental packaging for all products which is sourced here in Australia.
The Studio
My studio workings are slow & involved with each piece carefully considered in the process.
No harsh powdered chemicals or plastics are used, allowing me closer observations & a deeper sense of environmental awareness, both in the creating of each piece and also in giving gently back to the land.
My journey as a botanical dyer was a gradual process built on the foundations as a mixed media painter and printmaker for some 30 yrs and slowly evolved through a greater understanding of environmental impacts .
This has encouraged me to explore a closer connection to nature.
The Earth Fibre Purpose
As a natural eco dyer I am committed to reducing the negative environmental and social impacts of the textile & fashion industries.
